U4 and U6 Soccer FAQs

What is the age cut off for U4 & U6?
U4 is for players who were born in 2014 or 2015 and U6 is for players  born 2012 and 2013.

Registration:
Registration for U4 is now $75 and U6 is $90. On line registration can be done on-line at www.itsportsnet.com

Season:
season runs from May 26 until July 28. On July 28, at the end of the games, there will be trophy presentations.
U4 practices/games are 9:00 to 9:45 every Saturday.  U6 is 10:00 to 11:00, unless otherwise noted on the schedule.
Typically there is a 20 minute practice, break for snacks, and the remainder of the time is for a game. Please speak to your fellow coaches to determine timing. All games are played on the pitches at Meadowcreek. Map of all the pitches.

Teams:
The teams are co-ed and non-competitive.  The goal this year is to have fun, while the kids all learn the basics of soccer and team sports. It is highly recommended that only those parents that are assisting the coach are allowed on the field. If all 12 parents on each team find themselves on the field, things can get a little hectic for the coaches and the kids. Due to previous years experience, all teams will be determined by the convenor. While special requests can be made, there is no guarantee that these can be accommodated. Due to our increasing numbers, it can be alittle hectic with all the requests. Coaches will be notified of all team members and will contact their team members directly.

Coaches:
Each team will have a dedicated coach that has volunteered to run the team. If your team does not have a coach or an assistant, I will notify the team and request for a volunteer to help. If you have any older children in your household that are still in need of completing volunteer hours, we will consider them to co-coach in the U6 division, and would be happy to welcome them to help out, if there is a need.

It will be your child’s team coach who will reach out to you, closer to start of the season, to introduce themselves and provide practice/ game schedules.

For all coaches and assistant coaches, will be required to do Vulnerable Sector Screening. There will be a special time/date set up with Lucan OPP.

Equipment:
Coaches (or an appointed representative) will be advised when they must pick up all equipment (balls and jersey’s). These will be distributed to the team at the first practice/game.

Uniforms for U4’s consist of a shirt. For U6 it included a shirt, soccer shorts and soccer socks, which players are welcome to keep at the end of the season. Please remember to thank your team sponsor if you’re able too.

All players are responsible for purchasing their own shin pads and outdoor soccer shoes that must be worn for every practice and game. There are no exceptions as this is a safety precaution.

Players are also recommended to bring water bottles, as it is important to keep hydrated.

Team Picture Day:
Your team will be given a photo slot on picture day. Each player will receive a team photo, which is included in your registration fee. You do have the option to purchase individual photos of your child and information regarding those package prices, as well as your team’s photo date, will be shared during the season.

Rain Outs:
The IDSL policy is that teams must show up at their fields regardless of the weather. Coaches will then assess the situation and either call or delay the game.
